This post brought to you by Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.
You might not be aware, but Walgreens and Express Scripts did not come to an agreement in their negotiations. Express Scripts is one of Walgreens pharmacy providers and with this failed negotiation, customers who use Express Script will be forced to go elsewhere for their needs. Customers are not happy with this situation because it doesn’t benefit them one bit. They are not saving money, and are forced to go to another pharmacy. Express Script wanted to be able to increase rates and decide what is a generic drug and what is not. They are trying to make more money even though their profits have gone up in the past year. This problem will also hurt the military since Tricare is one of the Express Script providers. This will greatly hurt active, reserve and retired military who uses Tricare. Walgreens has taken different steps to help minimize disruption by offering their Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens program. One thing you can do is to contact your local media to discuss your disgust that Walgreens and Express Script couldn’t resolve their differences. You should checkout Walgreens on Twitter to see the latest news on this situation, and you can also checkout Walgreens on Facebook.
