After setting our adt home security alarm we were out the door for our dining experience at Boudro’s on the San Antonio Riverwalk. Boudro’s fashions itself as a “Texas Bistro” and is situated on the bustling part of the Riverwalk. We dined inside but there is ample seating outdoors as well where you can watch the boats full of tourists float down the river. During cooler nights blankets are offered as well as heat lamps. Inside the small space seems larger with the walls decorated with various shapes and styles of mirrors. The restaurant is dark and always busy. The signature drink at Boudro’s is the Prickly Pear Margarita, just the thing to cool you off on a hot Texas night. Guacamole is prepared from scratch at your table and is a closely guarded recipe that is chunky and heavenly. Menu items range from seafood to steak, all with a Texas twist. From ribeyes to strips, there is a cut of meat for every taste. Seafood offerings include shrimp, crawfish, crab and lobster tails. For dessert Boudro’s Louisiana Bread Pudding is some of the best bread pudding in town and is served with whiskey sauce. Opting for something lighter the Trio of Sorbets has some flavors you won’t find anywhere else including mango peach and lemon basil. Topped off with a cup of nice, strong coffee this is a true Texas dining experience.
